False Property Tax Exemption "Senior Tax Review" Circulating Online
There has been a claim online telling homeowners to contact our office for a "1098-SR" or "Senior Tax Review Form" to get a special property tax break.
Unfortunately, this is not real. There is no federal law creating an age-based property tax assessment change, and there's no such thing as a "1098-SR", "tax review form", or "senior assessment cap request form." Property taxes are not administered at the federal level at all. They are handled by state and local governments, so a federal property would not exist.
