Job Title: Part-time Janitor  

Position Type: Part-time (7.5 hours per week)

Full Wage Range (hourly): 

Step 1 $20.25     Step 2 $21.47    Step 3 $22.75     Step 4 $24.11     Step 5 $25.57

Hiring Range: Step 1 $20.25/hr.

No benefits provided unless required by Washington State Law.


Job Overview:

Performs a wide variety of custodial duties in order to provide a clean, orderly and safe environment within select County facilities for both County employees and the Public. Uses a variety of janitorial maintenance equipment. Maintains the security of the premises. Performs under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. This position work after business hours only.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Vacuum, Sweeps and mops floors. Operates power cleaning equipment, mechanical cleaners and polishers, wet and dry shop vacuum. Mixes cleaning agents.
  • Empties and cleans waste receptacles.
  • Dust furniture, counters, desks, etc.
  • Cleans and washes windows, walls, windowsills and screens, both inside and outside.
  • Cleans restrooms; washes floors & walls, cleans and sanitizes fixtures, and replenishes supplies.
  • Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, turn out lights.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate inventory of all equipment, supplies, and miscellaneous items needed to perform job and submit to Facilities Maintenance Supervisor or designee.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters.

Qualifications:

  • Requires knowledge of standard cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Demonstrable compliance with safe working procedures and practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and driving record check via fingerprinting.
