Full Salary Range (monthly):
Step 1 $3,572.19   Step 2 $3,787.59   Step 3 $4,016.38   Step 4 $4,257.20 Step 5 $4,510.06

Hiring Salary Range: Step 1 $3,572.19/mo. - Step 3 $4,016.38/mo. DOE

Job Summary:
Performs essential District Court Clerk duties to support daily court operations under the direction of the District Court Administrator or, in their absence, the Chief Deputy Clerk. Makes routine operational decisions, maintains efficient office functions, and provides professional, cooperative service to the public and court staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional communication and customer service to the public, attorneys, court staff, and other departments.
  • Process daily financial transactions and complete end-of-day financial balancing.
  • Assist with anti-harassment and other court-related forms and documentation.
  • Prepare and distribute court calendars, hearing minutes, and daily correspondence.
  • Monitor court proceedings, operate audio recording equipment, and draft court minutes.
  • Manage court exhibits, including marking, tracking, storage, and return after the required retention period.
  • Coordinate all aspects of jury processing from selection through completion.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to handle financial transactions.
  • Typing speed of at least 45 WPM with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately, independently, maintain confidentiality, and perform effectively in stressful situations.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain driving privileges.
  • Successful completion of a background check, credit check, and driving record check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.

 

Working Environment:

  • Work is performed in an office setting with a combination of sitting, standing, and occasional kneeling.
  • May require climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular, punctual attendance is required.
  • Position must be performed onsite during regular department hours; telecommuting is not available.
